International Packing Checklist

Personal Item & Carry On

  • Passport, License
  • 2 Copies of boarding passes and accommodation itinerary.
  • Credit Cards, ATM Card, Cash.
  • Money pouch – type worn under your clothes, not an 80’s fanny pack.  Have some self-respect!
  • Leash * (Tip: Teather Carry On to you or your personal item easy to walk away from carry-on amidst airport chaos.)
  • Electronics – Computer, tablet, phone, chargers, ear phones.
  • Mask – Why waste valuable  travel days  getting sick on the flight?
  • Travel Comfort
    • Pre-TSA, Global Entry, Clear – makes security easier. Not having to take out the electronics and liquids, and usually  faster lines.
    • Scarf, Sarong, Sweater, Jacket (Air conditioning can be on full blast in airports.)
    • 2 Granola / Protein bars  (Tip: So you don’t eat overpriced  junk.)
    • Empty thermos or water bottle (There is too much plastic in the world.)
    • Eye mask – for long flights
    • Neck pillow
    • Gum or mints (helps with ear pressure)
    • Avoid “risky” food or drinks before flying — midair GI distress is a nightmare.
    • Load your tablet or phone with movies, audiobooks, etc. Not all flights offer entertainment.
    • Shoes easily removed in TSA, Electronics easy to pull out for security.
    • Thin Slippers / Slipper socks for long flights
  • Glasses / Contacts (if you wear them)
  • Medicines (with documentation)
  • Mouth guard (if you use for sleeping)
  • Electrolyte tablets – (So convenient and easy to pack.)
  • Change of clothes, checked bag gets lost or for  long flights with layovers.
  • Toiletries (smaller than 3.7 oz each), in 1 quart plastic zip lock bag.
    • Small Shampoo, conditioner, detangler, gel, sanitizer, handwipes, make up, toothbrush, toothpaste, Deodorant, Tampons, pads, condoms

Checked Bag – When possible avoid checking a bag.

  • Wrap any liquids, creams  in plastic as fight pressure can make a slimy  mess.

  • Extra Chargers and ear phones.
  • Enough clothes to last several days without doing laundry.
  • Destination specific  equipment (jacket, sporting goods, etc.)

Jacket, scarf, bathing suit,  tops, bottoms, undies, socks. Pack assuming you won’t get laundry done for the first week.

 (Try to leave space for clothing, souvenirs you may buy.)
